20th February 2004 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 17-22 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 0ºC Sea Temperature: 8ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: A nice session in the estuary first thing in the morning. My 5.7m sail still isn't back from repair, so althugh the wind was gusting to 22 knots it had to be my flatly rigged 6.3m. As it turned out it wasn't too ba on the flattish water and I was able to hang on to it. There were a few moments of overpowered madness, but most of the time I was well powered up and having a ball. I had a couple of blasts across to Aberdovey, the tide was high so I had the whole estuary to play in. I then just blasted back and forth between two bouys which were perfectly placed to make myslef a figure-of-eight slalom course. Just a nice session with some flat out runs, some chop hpos and some nice gybing... A bit chilly though and my hands don't seem to work properly now!!! |
